Two Sigma

Data-driven modeling with open-ended analysis

Quant Research · Software Engineering

Source confidence: Official + candidate reports · Last reviewed: 7 Sept 2026. Exact process varies by role, office, and year.

Two Sigma publishes separate guidance for Quantitative Research and Modeling and Software Engineering. QRM interviews can cover data analysis and open-ended problem solving, coding and algorithms, statistics, or a candidate's research domain. Software Engineering candidates normally complete up to three rounds, with official technical interviews covering data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, shared coding, and sometimes systems design. Candidate reports describe online assessments for some roles, but no stable firm-wide format or duration.
